Our Team
Who We Are: We are a core team with an affiliated network of independent consultants, each bringing unique skills and experience in strategic planning, innovation and the health sector. We are experienced individuals who work effectively in teams to bring the greatest value to our clients. We embrace a collaborative approach to strategy development, and we value the collective experience and expertise of our project team, and of the stakeholders we consult with.
Who We Are Not: We are not a large corporate brand looking to promote ourselves; we work directly on promoting the brand of our clients. We do not use a “cookie cutter” approach to planning, but we respond to the unique challenges and needs that each project brings. We do not aggressively pursue all projects, but we carefully evaluate how we bring value to strategic opportunities.
Robert Merson – Principal Consultant
Robert brings over 15 years experience in management consulting and healthcare. He began his career as a health professional and then transitioned to working for leading consulting firms in Canada and the US before founding his own consulting firm in 2005.
As a project manager, Robert has successfully completed over 300 projects in innovation-based development, life sciences and health. He has led regional development initiatives in Canada, United States, Latin America, Europe, Asia-Pacific; and he has interviewed over 3000 senior individuals representing both the public and private sector. Robert is experienced in delivering projects ranging from strategic planning, to program or proposal development, through to partnership development, financing, and implementation.
Working independently, Robert has facilitated over 50 sessions comprised of senior stakeholders from government, academia, industry and not-for-profit organizations. He has developed and secured funding for research proposals for both the public and private sector. He has also completed numerous projects to assess the economic and health impacts from research investments and the growth in innovation capacity.
As a volunteer, Robert mentors students and entrepreneurs, and serves on board committees for several not-for-profit organizations.
